Small Balcony

One and a half square metres, eleven pots, and a washing line. The smallest set in the archive forces a fixed camera position, so every frame is composed by moving the subject instead of the lens.

The smallest set in the archive, and the most difficult to shoot in. A balcony one and a half metres wide forces a fixed camera position, which means every frame has to be composed by moving the subject instead.

The plants were not brought in as props. They were already there, in the way, and the set is partly about working around them. The laundry line appeared on the last morning and stayed for the final frame.
