Linen Morning

White linen in a bare room, shot before the heat arrives. Everything removable was taken away; what is left is a body, a wall and a window, photographed as cleanly as the light allows.

The idea was to remove everything: no furniture except a chair, no props except a shirt, no colour except the floor. What is left is a body, a wall and a window, which is a harder thing to photograph than it sounds.

Linen was chosen because it creases, and creases read as evidence. At this light level the fabric shows every fold, so the styling had to be almost clinical — buttoned to the collar, nothing added.
